Agreed.  In a different e-mail I wrote something to this effect:

"For a longer term workaround, it would be nice if the louis python bindings could tell us at runtime where 
the tables were installed -- this would allow Orca to pick them up even if liblouis were installed after Orca 
were built. I'm CC'in Eitan on this to see if that might be possible."

I think it will need some support from liblouis for it to happen.
