I'm sure you're right.
I am sure there are people who will argue for an off-screen model to deal with
applications that don't implement the Gnome accessibility API, or which do so
only inadequately; but those suggestions tend to come from people who aren't
proposing to design and write the code.
Yeah and my experience with OSM's is not 100% satisfactory either. I
use Window-Eyes while on that other OS and when it works, the OSM
isn't all bad but I find myself having to "redraw" the screen quite
frequently with some applications. Even GW Micro tries wherever
possible to use the DOM (Document Object Model) or MSAA for
accessibility information from a more predictable and stable
environment. I also bet the folks advicating for an OSM want the
virtual buffer too and frankly, I don't miss the virtual buffer
concept at all over here with Orca.
