I think what is being referred to here may be the flat review where
the contents isn't being updated when the actual content is changing.
Take for example something like the progress of a file transfer. You
have to exit and re-enter flat review in order to get the updated
contents. When you exit flat review, the "review" marker (for lack of
another name) goes back to the system caret. You have to use flat
review keys to get back to that progress line to heaaar the updated
progress. With the review functions in products like Window-Eyes,
that area gets updated continuously so all you have to do there is to
re-read the current line or word to hear how well the file transfer is
coming.
I thought I saw a bug filed concerning this inability for flat review
to automatically update itself.
