Hi,
Assuming you followed the instructions at
live.gnome.org/Orca/UbuntuHardy to set up speech-dispatcher to run as a
user process and installed viavoice from the voxin package (making sure
you chose to install the speech-dispatcher support during setup) the
other thing you need to do is edit your
~/.speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf file and remove the # sign from the
line that reads
#AddModule "ibmtts" "sd_ibmtts" "ibmtts.conf"
Hope that helps.

Do you have a Viavoice installed?
If so, you must have the Ibmtts Speech-dispatcher module installed
too. Type:
ls -l /usr/lib/speech-dispatcher-modules
Eventually you find them in /usr/local/lib
Note: It would be helpful if you tell us which Linux you have installed.
