I've never run into that situation.  Wonder what happened there.  The
only time I hear extraneous text is when scrolling doen a page.  You
know how emacs scrolls after you move down past the half-way point on
a page? quite often at that point the whole page will get spoken
unnecessarily.  But I've never experienced any problem like that with
typing characters.  Well, for some time, I've ben using word mode.
Dunno if that makes a difference here or not.  But even in character
mode, I don't recall having this.
