Oh, yep! And don't forget all those modules for cards we don't have, ore,
heck, let's get rid of all those pesky modules that we just don't know
what they're for or might make us nervous. What a great idea, for
someone, I guess.

I agree. I also think that people might be nervous about extra stuff in the
kernel. To this end, perhaps an option to remove it, in initial
installation / configuration?
