Hello again,
I tried my navigating by header experiment on the minefield start page, 
and the results were more favorable.  Two seconds seemed to be the 
slowest when it was wrapping to top.
The particular page with which I was having problems is 
www.barnstablearc.org
Orca reported no headers and the response time was looooong.
