That was the decision of our UI lead, Mike.  To be honest, I rather
concur with him.  Here's my thinking, for what it's worth:

Theres a finite number of these type of alerts -- at least at the
moment.  I'm aware only of the "remember this password" and the "firefox
has blocked this" ones.  They have buttons that are consistent and which
have consistent hotkeys.  And if you're interested in navigating to the
alert, it's Control+L plus 2 or 3 presses of Tab. (i.e. you can get
there relatively quickly if you care to do so and don't know what the
hotkeys are).

If for each button we'd speak the button name, the fact that it's a
button, and the hotkey, the button string spoken would be about as long
as the alert message itself, and once you've become familiar with that
alert you already know what the buttons are. Thus reading the button
names and hotkeys strikes me as unnecessary verbiage.

All of this said:

1. I could certainly add the speaking of the buttons if the user
community feels that is what should be done.  Regardless, however:

2. Firefox doesn't expose hotkeys to us at the moment.  Until they do,
you will still need to physically move focus to the alert or obtain the
hotkeys through some other means. :-(  That Mozilla bug can be found
