I'm really not sure what to add to the wiki concerning the gail
issue. I think it was generally a cause of miss matched libraries or
something. I might like to have clarified the exact dependency order;
that is, in what order these packages should be maid/installed. I
think if all went in the right order and specify the same --prefix
option throughout, I would have probably never had this problem.
I do need to write up something for installing gnome/orca on a
Slackware system. Perhaps I can stick some side notes in there. What
I need to do there is build my write-up in a plain text file first and
then upload to the wiki when I figure out how:).

Hey Steve.
Yeah, I've been reading some newsletters and magazine articles with FF
today and quite flawlessly. Furthermore, the response is quite
snappy.
Yeah, that's good to hear. I also just posted a defensive patch for the
Gmail problem. Doesn't provide access; merely stops the hang. <sigh>
Still have to investigate exactly where (else) Firefox is broken and
file more bugs against Mozilla.
But last night, I tried using the gnome help facility with
the help of that ayer script that was posted on the list a short while
back and that has been problematic at best. A lot of silence .
Haven't tried that yet. I wonder if it's merely a failure to work or a
traceback/error. Again, I'm always happy to look at debug.outs. <smile>
thing I should point out, in all instances of Firefox I've run lately,
the numpad orca keys don't speak anything while in FF. They do
everywhere else but not in Firefox.
We have some issues with flat review and Firefox. I'll take a closer
look at bit later (focusing on other bugs -- and hangs today).
On another note, since you worked out what the problem was in terms of
Gail, mind writing up some notes for the wiki? Thanks in advance!
