Re: [orca-list] no speech with hardy installation

Dear List!

Hope can I help wit Michael if possible.
Excuse me if not.
Michael, the hardy boot mehanism:
If your cd spins up, the first list is a language selection.
If you pressing enter key, the english language is default language.
Press f5 key and select screen reader with free down arrow key and enter.
And now, press enter key with boot.
Orca start automaticaly when the desktop logged in.
The accessible installation i not tried, because not speech with Orca.

The Hardy Alpha5 have a wubi.exe file, it is a Windows installer. You doing setup language, user name and password, desktop area, and the access dialog (access button) you choose the accessibility setting what you need.

You write your letter:
"from what i have read am i correct in thinking that i need to
press f6 from the boot prompt for hardy instead of f5 which is
why i feel i am making a lot of coasters with my cds and why
unlike some i have not had much luck with a an install rather
than it being the case of other blind people managing to test an
installed hardy because they have a sighted partner around or a
sighted family member around with knowledge of it which is
something i don't have or have some limited vision themsvs or
there braille display is useable for a hardy install unlike my
braillenote which doesn't support usb connection as a braille
display?"

Why using you with f6 key?

Have any blind people with installing Ubuntu Hardyheron Alpha-5 with Orca Screen Reader?
Have any Workaround?

The .orbitrc file in /root directory not work.

Attila
