Hi,
Has this installer recently been updated (I mean since the Hardy beta?)
Because I tried it from the beta and although you could run the installer
and choose to have Orca enabled from it, once you rebooted and picked
Ubuntu from the menu for the firsdt time you didn't get speech straight
away. you needed sighted assistance to finish the installation, or has
this now been changed?
Also, about the new install option booting from the live CD. Once you press
enter for English and then down arrow and press F5 are the accessibility
options the same as for Gutsy etc? i.e. 3 for Orca with speech? And if you
choose to boot the desktop can you then run the installer without any
"hacking"? Or is this still necessary.
Btw your work towards making accessible installation of linux is very much
appreciated.
Paul

Hi all
You may or may not have heard about the windows installer that is
available on the Ubuntu live CD. This installer allows you to install
Ubuntu onto a virtual disk, within your Windows installation, so you don't
have to worry about setting asside dedicated hard disk space to install
Ubuntu.
As of now, the windows installer offers accessibility options to the user.
The accessibility options that are available are the same as what is
available from the live CD boot menu, which means you can set up the
windows installer, choosing the accessibility profile you want. During the
install, and on the final installed system, accessibility will be enabled
according to the settings of the accessibility profile you have chosen.
Please spread the word about this, as this is a great way to get new users
involved with trying out Ubuntu.
Luke
