No, it uses the Windows bootloader to allow you to choose whether to load Ubuntu or windows. Unfortunately
there is no audible indication yet as to when this prompt pos up, however there is a fair bit of time before
Windows boots after this prompt has displayed.
Also, how does the disk performance compare to a standard instaallation?
Certainly not as fast as a set of dedicated partitions, however it is quite usable for most tasks.
