I used to use it some; but I think this deal with Firefox is much
better. URLview puts the available links into a numerical list and
then you choose the one you want. I'd much rather see the page in
full and go from there. Plus I had several incidents where URLview
truncated the long link so I think it is well past its time. What I
did from a text console instead was rig up a filter script that I
could pipe the message into and create a valid HTML file that could be
fed into elinks. That actually worked pretty good. On a similar
note, I can work with a message that is HTML based in mutt and open
the attachments list, open the message itself which is usually the
first MIME attachment, and if it is properly labeled as Text/html, it
will open up Firefox for me and I get the benefits of the best
possible browser in Linux. What I need to do next is fix this up so
it will dynamically use elinks when in a true text console and Firefox
when in a gnome-terminal.; that should be easy enough; I'll probably
just look at the TERM variable.
