I am a complete newbie to ORCA/Linux, so please forgive my ignorence on
this:

I just installed Ubuntu Hardy from the daily build from last Monday on a
laptop, thus using the laptop keyboard layout. Now, when I press capslock+p
to enter flat review mode, nothing happens. If, for instance, I move the
arrow keys to read the text, nothing gets spoken. I haveexperimented with
this both in the Gnome-terminal and in Firefox.

The flat review modus does not work like the Jaws cursor in Windows. You
can
use the flat review keys without pressing Orca+p. Just read with the
defined keys. When using the arrow keys, you're using the focus tracking
mode automatically.
After having read text with the flat review keys, press Orca+p to route
back to the place where you left the system cursor.
You can check out this behavior in a text file using Gedit, the Gnome text
editor.
