Using Fusion from VMWare or Parallels Desktop for Mac would be a far less cumbersome way of accomplishing the same thing, if you're willing to shell out a few bucks for the software. Both programs create virtual machines that allow you to run a second operating system simultaneously with Mac OS X on Intel based Macs. I run both WIndows and Ubuntu with Orca this way.
