Hi Rusty,
If you are talking about the default firefox 2.x then moving onto
firefox3 should show significant improvements.
About your question for when to file bug reports,
Its generally good to ask on the mailing list if someone can reproduce
the issue you are having, then once this is varified a bug should be
entered in the bug tracking system.
I am also a blind person wishing to get away from microsoft products, i
can successfully "do my work" (im a student), communicate over email in
ubuntu. The only need that i have for a windows machine is to use the
internet.
Its really firefox+orca thats the remaining big hurdle for me. Maybe I
just havent figured out how to "use it properly" but at least i cant
work efficiently with it, and until then i will be fored to keep a
windows machine around.
Its very intresting to hear that you got 7.10 installed and working
(getting some sort of speech) out in the process.
Let us know if you come across something good/bad.

Hi folks,
I preface this by saying that I've only been using linux for about ten hours.
I tried to go on line with firefox this evening. I've used firefox in
windows so i have some idea of what to expect.
I pressed f7 for carret brousing because I haven't figured out any
other way to read the screen.
But, as I arrow up and down in a page of text, the screen reader seems
to stop reading at certain points, possibly at the ends of paragraphs.
And, at a certain point, the thing locks up and I get no more speech.
I read a few days ago about espeak and audio port 19 having trouble.
Does any one know if they've worked this out?
Am i just a screwup?
Thanks so much!
Rusty
