Re: [orca-list] Misconfiguration in Mailman for this list.

I may be feeling snarky, but let me predict the future:

  Person A sends out e-mail.

Person B replies, thinking e-mail is going to just person A.

Person B is embarrassed because they didn't intend for the
content to be viewed by anyone except A.
Persons A, B, C, and D angrily approach me demanding
  a change.

My predictions for the future are based upon hassles I've received in the past. I'm not sure there is a way to please everyone here and I opt for leaving the list the way it is.

Sorry,

Will

Hi,
I also think it should be changed so that replies go to the list and not to both the sender and the list, or just to the author. On other lists we run I found that the latter caused a lot of messages intended for the list to just be sent to the original author.

Hi Bill:

No matter which reply option we choose for orca-list, someone is not going to like it. The current configuration is the result of appeasing the loudest folks to date.
Sorry, :-(

Hi,

I just sent my first reply to the list and discovered that It wasn't possible to just reply to the list. So, I let Pine fill in Mike's address and then replaced it with the list address. Surely, y'all don't want two copies of each response to one of your messages.
