yes even I think anouncing progress bars every time they change is a bad idea.]
the facility should be there to read it manually as and when the user
feels.  afterall we don't want to listen to a screen reader stuttering
every 1 or 2 second and some times even fall behind the progress bar's
progress.
completely agreed on that.  regardint the beeps in nvda, even I feel
it is a very good idea.
