Greetings,
I thought I would email the list to ask for some feedback on alternative
synths.
I am using Ubuntu which comes with Espeak by default, and I purchased a
Cepstral voice because although I find Espeak to be quite responsive, it's
maximum speech rate is still quite slow for my preference.
While the Cepstral voice is very easy to understand, even at quite high
speeds, it is a bit unresponsive, even on a Macbook with a 2GHZ processor.
Eloquence would be my preference here, but I don't believe it can be
purchased in a single user license like the Cepstral synths can.
Can anyone suggest any other alternative synths, either open source or
commercial, which are reasonably responsive?
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Mitch
