Thanks for having pointed out this issue.
A temporary fix, kindly welcomed by Jonathan Dudington, is available in
the latest test version of espeak: 

  http://espeak.sf.net/test/latest.html

This fix currently uses a short delay (50 ms): so it may work on a PC
and not work on another one. This delay hopefully will be removed.
