Hi Hermann:

When Orca is running, can you please type the following command to see 
if Orca speaks?   It worked for me with both Orca v2.18.0 and trunk.

wget --post-data='speak:hello world' localhost:20433

This will verify whether the Orca HTTP service that FireVox talks to is 
running or not.
