Hi.

I run Ubuntu instead of Fedora.  I have my system set to bood to a GUI
login.  In Ubuntu, gdm plays a drum sound when it's ready for ligin.  I
have my default session set to start Orca after I login.
Since Orca provides access to gnome-terminal, I rarely if ever use
speakup in the console now days.
