You would need to use the configuration files for acpid in a directory such as /etc/acpi/. I attach a script (which should be run by acpid when it gets an event) which will shutdown the system on a press (no hold) of the power button.

I attach the result of the following command:
ps aux |grep acpid
APM I couldn't find.
In the session settings there's no notification program activated, and I
also deactivated cron and anacron.
Don't know what's going on there.
