Thanks for explaining this. I enabled system wide conections and checked all
my wireless connections as "available for all users", because otherwise
passwords weren't stored and I had to type them each time I connected to a
wireless network. Do you know why passwords for user-specific connections
weren't stored?
I think I understand what's going on now. KNetworkManager can switch off the
wireless card and when the card is switched on, the NM autoconnects to the
network that was configured to "autoconnect=true". So the KNetworkManager
still doesn't work.
