Hi,
Sorry to spam the mailing list a bit, but I keep getting further into
this, and I want to be really clear about what I want. It seems like
there are two solutions to the problem of DNS not being shared
correctly on the repeater.
The first possible solution is to diagnose why DNS is not forwarding correctly.
The second possibility is to configure dnsmasq-base to serve a
different default nameserver to its dhcp clients. This will probably
be set to the repeater's gateway, as that IP does not change.
Right now, on the boxes behind the repeater, I'm currently editing
resolv.conf by hand to change the nameservers every time I obtain an
IP address via NetworkManager and DHCP, and so the second possibility
seems like it would be simpler to implement. Unfortunately, it looks
like dnsmasq-base does not ship with any configuration files, and so
I'm not sure how I would accomplish the task of configuring it to
serve up a different nameserver. If anyone could tell me how to do
this, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jake
