This all adds up to a non-functional NetworkManager for me. Anyone on
the list using this wireless card?
I've got one... Here are your problems:
1) No scanning in kernel drivers for orinoco right now, that's being
slowly worked on. Upstream at orinoco.sf.net _does_ have functional
scanning support right now
yup, thanks to an earlier post I was able to get scanning working by
using the newest orinoco drivers.
2) Its a PCMCIA-type device, that's why you have the non-device entry.
Can you do two things:
a) 'man stab', find out where the file is on Debian, and then paste it
into a reply
sure....
dave drod:~$ more /var/run/stab
Socket 0: empty
Socket 1: unsupported card
Socket 2: Orinoco or Intersil Prism 2 Wireless
2 network orinoco_cs 0 eth1
b) cardctl info
dave drod:~$ cardctl info
