Hi Stephen,

What do you think about introducing some heuristic for splitting large
blocks when highlighting inline differences? Realistically, an
inline-diff of a sequence that long is not likely to be all that
helpful, so some splitting might give a reasonable compromise between
accuracy and speed.

The patch I posted previously just refused to inline-highlight
anything longer than a certain threshold, but it would also be
possible to e.g., only inline-diff the first 10000 characters of a
change, or to split large changes into blocks of a few thousand
characters each and inline-diff those individually.
