Well I copied your code into launcher-gtk and with the
clutter_actor_set_reactive (view, TRUE) on the ChamplainView, it works
fine for me.  Can you verify that?

No joy, I can't seem to get it to work.  I've uploaded my launcher-gtk.c to see if anyone can spot where my error is:

    http://www.passback.org.uk/tmp/launcher-gtk.c

This is a fully up to date master branch from git.gnome.org on a fully up to date Fedora 12.

Keith.
I confirm that I have the same bug as Keith. The only way I can have the events with Keith's code is by commenting this line:

//  champlain_view_add_layer(view, layer);

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 64-bits with all packages taken from the official repos with the exception of libchamplain which was compiled from source (my branch libchamplain-0-4).

My version of clutter is:
dpkg -l | grep clutter
ii  libclutter-1.0-0                               1.0.6-0ubuntu1                             Open GL based interactive canvas library
