Hi!

So far, I have information on 4 venues;
- Portland Art Museum - Marion Miller Gallery
- Ecotrust - 2 options of indoor conference center or the rooftop terrace
- Castaway Portland

I have compiled the details in a file attached with this email. Sri, perhaps you can add what you have on leftbank annexe there for easy comparison.

Sure thing, I believe I have that info and I'll stick it in the spreadsheet.  We should probably store this spreadsheet on the cloud.gnome.org so that others can access it as well.

I don’t have access to cloud.gnome; I should ask Andrea if I could get one I suppose.

Out of those, I can see Ecotrust as the front-runner; despite being the most cost-friendly, their spaces also look really good! I feel just the right amount of space and ambience from what I can see of the pictures and the virtual tour. They're also a non-profit. For this venue, I see from their caterers' list, perhaps a suitable caterer called Hot Lips Pizza. Suits the more casual gathering event versus the typical full-service catering. They have vegan, veggie, gluten-free options and they also offer basic bar for events that include beer, wine and soda.

Hot Lips is pretty popular pizza joint.  I don't have a problem with that, everybody loves pizza. :-)  They also sell a natural soda that is available in a lot of places.  It is a very Portland business and so I'm happy to give business to them.  No surprise that they can cater to any kind of option, it is Portland. :-)

Looking at Eco-trust, I really like the terrace seating and I think would attract companies more than the bottom one which feels a little tired IMHO.

Me too! The rooftop terrace is great. And it is good to know that Hot Lips are good.

The next best option, cost-wise, is the Marion Gallery although I feel the ambience is not quite what we're looking for our purpose, they are more formal.

We used this place for Linux Plumbers, that was a bit posh and I would agree that it is a bit formal.  I think people were uncomfortable there, but it was a good way to kind of get a contrast I thought that is why I put it there.

I am looking at 2 more options and will share when I have the details.

This is really excellent work!  Very impressive how fast and how detailed you got with this.

I think for now the winner is ecotrust, and the Pearl district is really nice area.

I don’t know much about the price ranges to rent venues like that; just curious, from what you have seen, do you think ecotrust’s price is competitive and do you think there are better prices than that?

cheers,
