Being in Malaga's http://www.opensourceworldconference.com/malaga06/en has been very useful to think better what to offer to sponsors. Useful for the visible interest of some companies 'being there' and 'make happy to the regional governments' (the current saucy clients of Spain, and the Generalitat de Catalunya is a very saucy one). Also useful for the (generally positive) conversations had with some possible sponsors. After these conversations I think we need to detail more what sponsors get in each package. This is my suggestion for the brochure, assuming all the extra work and expenses that it would require. The idea is, of course, that getting the planned 1 cornerstone / 3 gold / 5-7 silver there are enough resources to cover the effort, and the offer is more attractive so we are likely to get more sponsors. The sustainable model works with less sponsors as well. The changes are: - More detailed information about "billing". This is what marketing people want to know, primarly. - Taking out speaking slots. Editorial and comercial go separate. - Including a basic set for stands and a media zone. We will cover just the basics: 1 table, 2 chairs, 1 plug and something like a wall behind for each stand. If they want more the cost is assumed by them or paid in addition. We had talked about this possibility when we were planning a joint event with the IGC. A % of our possible sponsors want face to face contact with participants, show stuff, give handouts, etc. The media zone will be something like a doughnut of tables where the media leave their stuff and their representants are in the middle (if they want). - Increasing the company registrations. Extra registrations don't cost us usually money (these companies would probably not send more people) or the difference is compensated by the amount of money they pay anyway. The rate sponsorhip/participants is high and this is a way to soften the offer. Anyway, we want more people atending GUADEC. - Addition of the Media Partners. We had talked about them and previous GUADECs had this category. The result is: Cornerstone Sponsor - visible presence in the banner at the main venue stage, shared with the organisers' logos only. - 2 ad pages in the official program. - negotiable amount of inserts in the participants' bags. - organisation / sponsorship of a special event. - large logo in website, program's back page, banners in locations, bag, official t-shirt and all GUADEC public documents. - 1 web page with your content linked from the guadec.org homepage. - 1 stand during the 7 days of conference (at your expense). - access to press room. - 12 company registrations. Gold Sponsor - 1 ad page in the official program. - 2 inserts in the participants' bags. - organisation / sponsorship of a special event. - medium logo in website, program's back page, banners in locations, bag, official t-shirt and all GUADEC public documents. - 1 web page with your content linked from the guadec.org homepage. - 1 stand during the 7 days of conference (at your expense). - access to press room. - 8 company registrations. Silver Sponsor - 1/2 ad page in the official program. - 1 insert in the participants' bags. - small logo in website, program's back page, banners in locations, bag, official t-shirt and all GUADEC public documents. - 1 web page with your content linked from the guadec.org homepage. - 1 stand during the 7 days of conference (at your expense). - access to press room. - 4 company registrations. Media Partner (((goes to the column))) This packages is offered to the media as an exchange of advertisement combined with a quality announcement and coverage of the event. We offer: - 1 block at a shared Media Partners page in the official program. - 1 insert in the participants' bags. - small logo in the Media Partners block in website, program's back page, banners in locations, bag and official t-shirt. - presence of you and your products in the shared Media Zone, next to the sponsors' stands. - 1 company registration with access to press room. - 3 media accreditations. Ludovic, I know it is more text than we have in the current version but eveything can still fit in a single page by cutting the introductory text of each package, taking out the "Being a .... sonsor grants your company" sentece and/or using a smaller font for the listings. Also to be considered if it doesn't give much work and you need more space. The column could be shortened to the half bottom page, leaving just thespace needed for the Custom Sponsorship Opportunities and the Media Partners. The Custom Sponsorship Opportunities can be shortened by deleting the first 2 paragraphs and leaving just the third. .... and now I can confirm this is the last change I suggest to the brochure (possible remaining typos apart) :) -- Quim Gil - http://desdeamericaconamor.org
