I gave my opinion to Dave weeks ago at #guadec: free form session with 150 people focused in one topic (like in the Libre Graphics conference) is not the same than 500 people interested in several topics and some structure needs to be offered to those willing it. I'd say: if you want your session scheduled at a specific time/location and printed in the program, make sure we know about its existence (submitting it in guadec.org). If you are happy planning something later on and just announcing it in the website, no problem: you will find at least a corner in the big marquee or in any space available at that time. Let's concentrate first to define the WarmUp Weekend. The elements to be combined are: - GUADEC-ES, primary focused to developers - in Spanish - Catalan workshops, primary focused to users / power users / corporate users - in Catalan - Other sessions in other languages. - Local/Locale time, these hours in which all people meet by language and region at the same time. - Tutorials, in English - The GNOME Love Wall could be also an activity for the WUW - the first plenary-like held in the marquee and 100% interactive. Like a WarmUp game to break the ice (if Glynn was thinking in something like that when submitting http://guadec.org/node/139 At the beginning I was thinking that we would do not much on Saturday morning, but seeing all we have maybe we can have a soft start already at 11h, opening the doors at 10h for those wanting to pick bags and accreditation, check email, see the chabs and kumpels... -- Quim Gil /// http://desdeamericaconamor.org | http://guadec.org
