Re: new software Gtk2::GIS

Sounds interesting. But what about renaming your module to Gtk2::Ex::GIS? By convention Perl only Gtk2 extensions should reside in the Gtk2::Ex:: namespace, not straight under Gtk2::, which is reserved for the Gtk2 bindings themself. (To prevent such namespace issues it's always recommended to announce a new module and request a namespace on the list before releasing it ;)

ok, thanks. None of those modules I announced ;-) is yet in CPAN, only Geo::Raster is there before but that's in the Geo:: namespace, and the Gtk2-stuff is in a file Gtk2::Geo::Raster-0.30.tar.gz in sourceforge.

Would it be ok to call the RasterWindow module (which subclasses ScrolledWindow) Gtk2::Ex::RasterWindow? The problem is that it should also support (geographic) vector data, so maybe Gtk2::Ex::GIWindow? (GI = Geographic Information) Any suggestions are welcome.

Gtk2::GIS is more like an example application (although technically it is a module) and perhaps not a module per se, it would be included in the new Gtk2:Ex::* module but the module wouldn't be called that..
