I'm posting to mention something that just occured to me about
the name -- there is a precent for this kind of situation, and
it's set by the DBI. In its case, extension modules that are not
"official DBI" go into the DBIx:: namespace.

i'll have to look around and see what info i can find on their decision
to see what, if any, formal process/scheme they have going.

I'm not sure this would be very applicable here, however, since
"Gtk2x" has a confusing connotation ("does that mean Gtk 2.x?").
It's just something I thought should be tossed into the mix
before things are set in stone for eternity.

yeah i don't like Gtk2x, but i think Gtk2::Ex is a reasonable approach
to the same end.
