   After executing  the jhbuild bootstrap results in

  Self-signed certificate encountered.
To connect to insecurely, use `--no-check-certificate'.

I can probably resolve this pretty easy but just thought I would pass it along to hopefully yield a smoother process.

Sorry, thought I'd fixed that.

I have now, but you'll need to re-download (or pull it if you have a checkout of gtk-osx).

As a bonus it applies the Bug 700557 autoreconf patch.
