Hi Ikorot,

I think that there must be some examples of this behaviour on current
applications. Take a look at this simple example, which explains how
combo boxes work:

Maybe you can add items for your ComboBox using the function append_text??

I have no specific knowledge on this matter, but the usual thing I do
when I face similar problems is to try to think with a wider
perspective. Is is necessary to do that? How was it achieved in the
past? Sometimes those new functions are not very tested, and may cause
problems.
