Wacom Tablet Issues

This started out as an Inkscape/ GTK problem but it also affects Gimp.

My Wacom tablet works perfectly with the pen but the mouse is another story.
It uses some of the pen settings in Gimp and in Inkscape it pretty much
fails to work at all. When I uninstall GTK the mouse works fine but there is
no tilt/ pressure sensing. I reinstalled GTK 2.10.13 and the pressure/ tilt
is fine but the mouse is messed up again.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated as I am not the only Inkscape user
with these problems,
