The fact MDI implements its own window manager that looks
and behaves differently than the desktop's (user's preferred)
window manager, it looks and behaves differently among
applications, it is bound to one screen and its background
window eats desktop space making it hard-to-impossible to
mix its windows with desktop's windows should be enough.

MDI is just a workaround for poor desktop environments.
