There has been quite much interest to the releases, even though (or
because of) they dont always work. Of course cvs distribution is
somewhat better, if you have automake/autoconf things properly
installed. 

Hmm, maybe we should rely more on the cvs snapshots and make releases
less often and try get more people use the newest cvs version?  This
would certainly mean that the release would work only with
gtk+1.0.*'s... But I guess its the case even now...

This is because someone broke gtk--'s 1.0.6 support for latest version :)

I'll change it back to "supporting 1.0.6 gtk+" when a new version is available
:)

(hmm, as you've noticed, based on the web page, the newest release is
sort of useless... if gtk+1.1.* changes at all, it'll not work and
since it doesnt work with 1.0.6 gtk+ either, there's no proper uses
of it...)
