i guess both parties think, that the other project was a stupid idea. :-)
and both parties have other stuff to do than fixing bugs in the other project.
and both parties would like, if the other projekt did it the same way, so
they had interoperability.

but i guess, someone has to modify code from both project for interoperability
(and maybe other stuff too : there is more than kde and gnome !). but if you
do, i guess both parties will accept the patches.
