autocomplete

In preference.tool I already make sure 'autocomplete' is not selected,
but it still tries to autocomplete. To reproduce the behavior, in one
cell type 'abcdefgh' (without quote), and in the cell below, type
'abcd' , once type this letters, it shows completion. Can this be
turn off?
