Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] Building pwlib/openh323 : need to keep source directories for using the libs? (PWLIBDIR/OPENH323DIR issue)

Hello Georgi,

You can try reading the spec files for these packages of an rpm distro,
or the ebuild files on gentoo. The latter are quite straightforward to
understand.
Thanks for the links. They helped (I did not think about that btw). Seems like openh323 and pwlib are somewhat broken in their configure scripts.

Here is more info after the failure I mentioned to Damien :
[...]
OpenH323 version is 1.15.3
checking for /folk/vrubiolo/Archives/openh323-1.15.3/../pwlib/version.h... no
checking for /folk/vrubiolo/pwlib/include/ptlib.h... no
checking for /usr/local/include/ptlib.h... no
checking for /usr/include/ptlib.h... no
Cannot find pwlib - please install or set PWLIBDIR and try again
[...]

If I export PWLIBDIR, nothing changes. I then copy version.h from the source tree into my prefix, I get :
[...]
OpenH323 version is 1.15.3
checking for /folk/vrubiolo/InstalledProgs/pwlib-1.8.4//version.h... yes
PWLib prefix set to.... /folk/vrubiolo/InstalledProgs/pwlib-1.8.4/
configure: Skipping tests for RFC 2190 H.263 support
configure: Skipping tests for VIC H.263 and non-standard H.263
checking linux/telephony.h usability... yes
[...]

and the configure script successes. However, compilation aborts with teh following :
$ make
/folk/vrubiolo/Archives/openh323-1.15.3/openh323u.mak:178: /folk/vrubiolo/InstalledProgs/pwlib-1.8.4//make/ptlib.mak: No such file or directory make: *** No rule to make target `/folk/vrubiolo/InstalledProgs/pwlib-1.8.4//make/ptlib.mak'. Stop.

I'll keep you informed about my progress.

Thanks again,

Vincent
