count me in on any manual writing attempts, as if we can write one that
gives me the necessary information in a format i can comprehend, anyone
can easily comprehend it and will really reduce the problem as the
bugware people like me drift in. i might suggest writing two different
manuals, one a user manual for the people drifiting in from the bugware
operating system, like me, and one for the programmer/system
administrator, who approach it from the programming end and has all the
technical details for complete comprehension of all of gnomemeetings'
intricacies and abilities. that way you do not have the conflict of
trying to "dumb" it down without leaving so much out it is meaningless
for the more advanced user. .

There will be a manual in a few months, but I find it very weird when
people tell me they have no idea what to do with the software. Why did
you install it if you have no idea what it can do and how to do it?

I am a moderate user of gnomemeeting and have done a little user testing
for GM on RedHat betas. I would be interested in 'idiot proofing' the
manual
you refer to as it progresses (as I am an aptly skilled idiot). Let me
know
how I can help.
NB: I am limited to the english language (New Zealander).
Regards, Rob.
Damien i can also help with proofreadinga and idiot proofing the
manual. i can also help write a few sections if needed. Just ask and
you shall receive. Well where its physically possible for me to.
