Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] Help!! - ALSA crashes my Gnomemeeting

Following the Mandrake website, APIC support can give troubles in
Mandrake 9.0 and produce system freezes.
Apparently, the problems people have only appear with Alsa RC5. That is
a big problem as I don't know the cause. I have no problems here with
ALSA RC5. The problem is that most people coming from the windows world
will automatically think GnomeMeeting is the cause, and not look
further. It is impossible for me to determine the problem and contact
the required people (Redhat, ALSA, webcam driver?) if I don't know
exactly the cause of the problem. The only thing that I can confirm is
that GM can't crash the system itself. If it is crashing the system,
then it means that there are drivers bugs. Only a buggy driver can crash
the kernel. And even if I was sending garbage to the driver, it should
resist. But I doubt Im sending garbage as most of the people have no
problem. So Im really disappointed by those distributions-specific
problems.
