Re: Plans for 2.20

Rodrigo,

not if we move the layout tabs to a separate dialog.
Well, may be you are right. One tab in, two tabs out seems like a good math;)

yeah, I'm not convinced by this neither, since it would be a cluttered
capplet.
There is long-term plot to integrate IM into libxklavier but there no
real movement in this direction, so it is early to discuss...

a i18n capplet could work, what do you think? Do you remember why it
wasn't done before?
Well, there were several direct and indirect reasons IIRC:
- Changing the locale in already running environment is virtually
impossible. So it would required logging out/logging in - which is
effectively same as choosing the locale in GDM.
- The draft implementation has unblessed (at least at that point)
dependency on rather large IBM ICU library
- Carlos Perelló Marín who was working on the capplet quietly
disappeared from the GNOME development force...
If you look in SVN, you'll find it in capplets/localization - but the
last actual commit was made 3 years ago.

yeah, sounds good, could you do a mockup of your ideas please?

I will try - not sure when I'll have time for it though. BTW, when is
g-c-c branching planned for 2.18?

Sergey
