I think i've done my absolute best in trying to contact or offer my help
in regards to this. I've decided to proceed regardless of Ramon's
position on the issue at this time. If anyone feels this is a bad idea
please let me know otherwise here is what I plan on doing.

     1. The slot issue occurs because the viewlet code needs to be
rewritten. I will rewrite this for Plone 3.x
     2. Currently i've started most of the addons as Products so I can
verify the stuff I currently have works. From there I will
create a buildout for the new install.
     3. Once the above is done; it will need to be hosted somewhere. In
our initial discussion I was weary of using Varnish
        (http://varnish.projects.linpro.no/) because it required having
gcc on the hosted machine which is obviously a risk in regards
to security. Ramon made a valid argument that gcc would be
needed to build Plone anyway which is a valid argument
technically speaking. I'm not exactly sure what the current
environment involves so I will need proper contacts etc for this
so I can have a discussion about the needs and how this can fit
        into the current ecosystem.

If there is anything missing from this list please let me know or feel
free to add. I plan to update after every task is completed and leave
notes/comments on my blog or somewhere else as I move forward through
each task. I will begin this work 5/5 onward. Again, if there are any
issues in regards to this please let me know.

Thanks
