eds optimization

Hello,

last week I spent  by fixing bugs and looking at memory consumption of
calendar part of eds.
You can read more about this on my blog. In a short, I am using big
calendar with 2500 events
and (unfortunately) it takes about 8MB when loaded in memory.

I think there are various ways how to reduce the memory consumption,
for example we do not need to load&parse all (even prehistoric)
events immediately, but "on demand" (it's not very probable that we
will need them).
