There are also two good GObject tutorials if you need to better
understand how all those types and classes work:

There is also a new Gtk+ book: Foundations of Gtk+ from Apress. You can
buy the ebook online. It's not available for free (yet). it's not a
good book all in all, but for you hackers, reading around the source
code may prove easier :).
