Since Gnome is the face of my OS, I expect robustness more than fancies. I understand that fixing bugs is boring while implement new feature is exciting, but we could meet in the middle.

you should probably read the bug statistics as well.

bugs *are* being fixed, in some cases through the introduction of new features that make what wasn't possible before, possible now.

also, not all bug reports are crashers.
