Hi everyone, I would just like to share a couple of variations that i have made for the gnome-tweak-tool logo. A couple of weeks ago, John Stower commited my version of the logo to git. the reason was (for anyone who didn't see the original post) that the original logo was created on a white background, instead of with an alpha channel. Gnome-tweak-tool just came through as an update (for me in Archlinux) and reminded me, that i had intended on sharing some other versions that i have made. (i have shared with other arch-users, one guy in particular wanted to switch to gnome 3 - based on my funky logo - if you can believe that. it made me laugh...lol) anyways, the current logo has an alpha background, but the face is white. At the time (when editing the original), i did not want to obscure the lines and detail in the face. however, since then i have actually made other versions. I am going to provide two of my favorites to the list. 1st. "welcome-plasma.png" - this is the version i use, which is the coolest one in my opinion and also has the most depth to it. it is slightly enlarged, there is some color, added and i have done various layers of post processing using "G'mic" - with some masking in gimp afterwards... The plasma looks especially nice :) the plasma has an alpha layer, so regardless of your background it should "blend" nicely. I've also sketch/outlined and highlighted the gnome-foot logo - to bring it into focus, and add detail. as well as adding shading to the face and fair to give ti more of a three-dimensional look... 2nd is "welcome-outline.png" - this is the exact same was the default logo, minus the white.... I am using a very dark desktop, so when i first edited the original - it really didn't occur to me to remove the white - as the dark bg_color i am using would hide the outline of the logo too much. Making it almost invisible... But other people i am sure are using much lighter themes, so i thought i should include this, as it may be preferred over the white-faced default gnome-tweak logo. I do tend to think on a lighter background, that this version might be more suitable (even as the default!), than the white.. (myself --> i much prefer the plasma version, over any other - hands down). enjoy, and let me know what you think ;) to try one of these alternate versions, backup the default logo, then replace it with one of the new ones, like so; sudo cp '/home/**username**/Desktop/welcome-plasma.png' '/usr/share/gnome-tweak-tool/welcome.png' this assumes you have copied an alternate logo to your desktop.... /usr/share/gnome-tweak-tool/welcome.png <---- is where the original resides, and also is the file you will want to back up, if you plan on being able to return to the default. ...and obviously, if Gnome would like to use either of these logos, again you are more than welcome ;) jordan
