Hey Paul,

I think I would move the message tray to the top of the screen.  With

the panel moved to the bottom (as per my other suggestion) that would
seem to be the obvious thing anyway.  But if the panel was to be kept at
the top, I would suggest having the message tray appear immediately
below it.

Not a developer, but I bet there is a reason behind the fact that the four Overlay elements (panel, dash, workspaces, message tray) are each on a different edge of the screen. Placing two of them immediately on top of one another would seem a no-no to me.

Just my humble opinion.
